DAY 1: Fes – Ifrane Merzouga desert:
You begin our three-day desert excursion from Fez to Marrakech crossing the Sahara at 8:00 a.m. Then, you travel to Midelt across the middle Atlas Cedar Forests and the Atlas Mountains. Also, you drive via Azrou, a significant handicraft hub with a focus on cedar wood work, and Ifrane, a lovely ski resort. Thereafter, you get to Midelt in time for lunch. After that, you will travel to Erfoud and the desert in the late afternoon. A short offroad will take you from the Erg Chebbi dunes to the edge of the golden dunes where camels are waiting for you. In addition, the luggage will then be loaded into a 4×4 and driven to the camp. Besides, on your way to the camp, you can have a lovely camel ride across the sand dunes and see a magnificent sahara sunset.
When you arrive, you will be greeted with tea and a friendly greeting. Before supper, you can unwind and settle in your lovely, private tents, each of which has an ensuite bathroom and a shower. After a great lunch, a fire will be built, and a joyful atmosphere will take over as staff members and cameleers perform musical performances under the desert stars!
DAY 2: Merzouga desert – Todra gorges – Dades gorges:
Wake up to enjoy the sunrise and a delicious breakfast outside before packing up and leaving the sand dunes behind as you return to camp. Then, you get back on the paved roads and head to Erfoud, which is famous for producing fossils. Thereafter, drive across savannah-like terrain and palm gardens. After stopping for lunch, we proceed to the Todra Gorges for a brief stroll. After that, travel to Dades Gorge, where you will stop. Dinner and a hotel stay are included.
Day 3: Dades gorges – Ait ben haddou:
Will take a little hike through the gorges after breakfast before continuing our 3-day trip of the Moroccan desert from Fes to Marrakech. Through El Kelaa Magona, also known as the Valley of the Roses and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, we will follow the Dades Valley. Therafter, you stop for lunch in the village of Ait Benhadou after our excursion to Ouarzazate. Then, you will have time to tour the well-known UNESCO World Heritage Site, which served as the backdrop for a number of movies, including Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. In addition, to get to Marrakech, we’ll drive through the Tichka pass.
